Hello Again!!
Wings of Fire:
Hi there! Today I will be covering the book series Wings of Fire. Wings of Fire is probably in my top-ten favorite books and is a great Read for young readers who are looking for fairly-long chapter books but nothing to hard. The author of the books is Tui T. Sutherland who also happens to be one of the authors who work together to write the Warriors series under the name Erin Hunter, which is another nominee for my top-ten favorite books.
Sorry, was that sentence too long? Ill give you a moment to work it out.
Anyway, the first thing you should know is that Wings of Fire is mainly about dragons. Very little humans involved, and at rare times that humans (called 'scavengers' by the dragons) are involved, they can't really communicate with the dragons. Sorry for those hoping for a 'How to Train your Dragon' plot. Wings of fire is a series split into to three parts, and every part is five books long. (Except the third part, as only two books have been written so far in that particular section, but more are on the way.) Each book is from the perspective of a different character.
Sutherland is very good at different characters' personalities and development. She has created so many different personalities and yet no two are even similar. The plots of the books are simple and not difficult to keep up with but still capture the reader's attention and hold it fast.
The first part of the series is about five young dragons,(called 'dragonets') who are part in a mysterious prophesy saying that they are destined to stop a terrible war that has been raging in their continent, Pyrrhia, for almost twenty years. The second part of the series is a little more whimsical, and is probably my favorite. In this part, a new set of dragonets arises along with a new prophesy. The third part, Spoiler Alert!!!- is about a new continent and new kinds of dragon species. It tells about how the two worlds connect with each other and unite to solve a problem going on in the new continent. Wings of Fire is a great series, and if you choose to read it, I hope that you have a great time.
